Product information

Calm blue moonlight colors in an ethnic style rug. This colourful wool rug is made by skilled hands. Homemade and handmade based on Finnish MUM's original designs.

Our handicrafters live in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and work from home. They save travel costs to work and may take care of their family. Every week we go and gather ready products and have our materials and instructions for new orders. Finalizing for the rugs is made at our workshop. We support local production and materials only and all is of highest quality, both materials and artisan handicraft. Each rug is one of it's kind and signatured by the artisan who made it.

Material is local wool. Sheep are farmed in the area and wander free. Shearing process ia made traditionally by hand and no animal is harmed. Colours dyed by hand. This pattern adjusts to many different sizes.

MUM's

Mum's was born in South Africa 2006, when Finnish Outi, an artist, and mum herself, collaborated with 15 African women. They made sculptures for an exhibition in Finland, all weaved by hand, designed by Outi, empowering women who worked from home. All women were mothers, so the project was named MUM's.

Later on, it turned to be a name for a sustainable brand "Mum's Good with Goods". During the years a tiny art project has slightly developed into a sustainable design company, combining designers with sustainable production. Mum's has got production in four developing countries India, South Africa, Cambodia, and Bolivia. Everything is handmade as far as possible, people work from home, save travel costs to work. Materials are local either natural or recycled, and each Mum's product is signed by the artisan who made it.
