Who would be more professional than kid's themselöves when it is about designin a toy. There is a story behind Mum's toy collections. Each toy is designed by kids and drawing interpreted to a lovely toy in the hands of Blivian and South African artisan women. In  Bolivia we use Alpacan wool which is non allergenic and in South Africa toys are made of cotton.

Material is washable and ecah one is lovingly unique, like you. Thre are no loose part s in this toy and toy is CE marked.

 All began 2009 already when mum of Mum's- mum of four kids too- was working ojn her laptop at a kitchen table. She knew Bolilvian women were very skilled and thought perhaps Mum's should make a toy collection. The youngest one, Arne 6 years that time came to see his mum and asked what mum was doing as saw thee was some robots on the laptop screen. So Outi replied she is designing robot toy's for kids that wouldn't that be lovely.. So littel Arne biy got bit frustrated and immediately said: " Well I WILL DRAW YOU ROBOTS SO YOU DO NOTY NEED TO COPY ANYONE  ELSES'S ROBOTS!" Right after ran to his rooma nd came back with a pile of paper and pens. He draw a collection of robots: fourhanded robot has got four hands so he may help more, Wing robot may fly quickly to you if needed, Girl robot had got a Marimekko dress, Tooth roboto was there to remind one need s to remember to brush your teeth, Tehre was also a robot with e television in the stomach.

His mum sent the photos to Bolivia and women were impressed and turned the drawings to crocheted soft toys. A collection was born and later on sold at Artek, for example.. As head designer was also busy with pöayong football, for example we decided to arrange toy drawing competitions for other kids too. Drawings were sent to us and Arne and his siblings were the jury. They chose the designs for the new collection, toys drawn and designed by best of professionals, kids themselves.

 

 

MUM's

Mum's was born in South Africa in 2006, when Finnish Outi, an artist, and mum herself, collaborated with 15 African women. They made sculptures for an exhibition in Finland, all weaved by hand, designed by Outi, empowering women who worked from home. All women were mothers, so the project was named MUM's.

Later, it became the name for a sustainable brand "Mum's Good with Goods". Over the years a tiny art project has slightly developed into a sustainable design company, combining designers with sustainable production. Mum's has got production in four developing countries India, South Africa, Cambodia, and Bolivia. Everything is handmade as far as possible, people work from home, and save travel costs to operate. Materials are local either natural or recycled, and each Mum's product is signed by the artisan who made it.

Mum’s carpets are made to order only. We manufacture all our carpets according to your wishes. The size selections available on the website are examples of the most demanded sizes based on the typical Scandinavian living room sizes. We hope they are useful when choosing the correct carpet size for your needs. Unfortunately, we cannot provide return or refund options for the made-to-order products.
