Pipana is designed by Finnish artist and designer Jenni Rope. Sympathetic round pipana-dots are handweaved by Mum's artisans. Dots are made of higher wool and background wool is flat. This crestes a relief kind of surface. Jenni says Pipana's are so sweet you may even pat them!
Jenni's playful imaginary world meets Mum's skilled artisans, who turn Jenni's designs to rugs, cushions, ottomans, and bags, delighting any room in your home. Pipana is a practical adjustable rug. We can make it in any size you wish and colour choices are many all the way from mix bright colours to single coloured plant based and purely natural. Different colours make Pipana rug suitable for all kind of interior. As an artist, Jenni Rope is best known for her paintings and mobile sculptures. The material for rugs is wool and a 3D woven technique is used for the texture.
Mum's employs artisans living in rural villages in Northern India, South Africa, and Bolivia. We buy each and every product and agree on a fair payment in collaboration with the village leader. The truth is our artisans cannot read or write, as they have never had a chance to go to school. Working for Mum's, and receiving regular income they may pay for their kids' go to school. It is one of the things artisans are most proud of. So are we.
Wool is sourced from local sheep. The sheep wander free and as every Mum's is made based on order only, sheep is sheared after your order is placed. Everything is done locally.
Size: regular, or any custom size
