- Jenni Rope

He uskovat, että näin lapsilla enemmän mahdollisuuksia parempaan tulevaisuuteen. Niin uskomme mekin.
Kaikki Mum'sin valmistuvat lähituotantona ja vapaana laiduntavat lampaatkin keritään perinteisesti käsin. Materiaalin ovat paikallisia luonnon- tai kierrätysmateriaaleja.

“ I love colourful Moroccan rugs, and tried to find a bold carpet with a calmer pattern, without success. I decided to design it myself. I was looking at my sketchbooks and thinking about simple patterns or shapes that could perhaps work in a carpet. I found a composition of round shapes which was kind of light, and began to work on it further. Three dimensional “Pipanat” ( meaning tiny round shapes in Finnish) are so sweet and it is so lovely to touch and pat them… That is why my collection also needed a sympathetic name.. Pallura, papana, pipana… That’s it!”- Jenni
Mum's employs artisans living in rural villages in Northern India, South Africa and Bolivia. We buy each and every product and agree a fair payment in collaboration with the village leader. The truth is our artisans cannot read or write, as they have never had a chance to go to school. Working for Mum's, and receiving regular income they may pay for their kids school. It is one of the things we are the most proud of.
Size 45 x 45cm Inner cushion made in Finland.Jenni Rope’s Pipana collection somehow reminds Mum’s of the famous Marimekko “Iloinen takki”- dress, which we love too! A dress with happy little pockets in varying wonderful colours, designed in Finland and even worn by lady Hillary Clinton. Same happiness, same delightfulness seems to appear within Pipana collection. The mixed colour version spreads joy and love, calmer colours bold and warm style. Rugs are 3D weaved, come in many sizes, from a little mini-size to a giant one and all custom sizes in between. Colours. In rugs, cushions, bag. These are Jenni's thoughts behind her collection:

MUM's
Mum's was born in South Africa in 2006, when Finnish Outi, an artist, and mum herself, collaborated with 15 African women. They made sculptures for an exhibition in Finland, all weaved by hand, designed by Outi, empowering women who worked from home. All women were mothers, so the project was named MUM's.
Later, it became the name for a sustainable brand "Mum's Good with Goods". Over the years a tiny art project has slightly developed into a sustainable design company, combining designers with sustainable production. Mum's has got production in four developing countries India, South Africa, Cambodia, and Bolivia. Everything is handmade as far as possible, people work from home, and save travel costs to operate. Materials are local either natural or recycled, and each Mum's product is signed by the artisan who made it.
