Mum's Story. Since 2006.
Connecting smiles. Creating joy.
Founded in 2006, started as an art project of Outi, Mum of Mum's, with 15 women artisans in Africa, Mum’s is now a Nordic design label, combining cool and lovable design to artisan handicraft, with the principles of sustainability.
Mum’s is socially responsible and eco-conscious. We collaborate with artisans living in rural areas of India and South Africa, every product signed by the artesan. Read our sustainability report to learn more about our work.

2006
Happy beginning
Our founder Outi is an artist and designer. When she travelled to South Africa many years ago, she met talented women who handcrafted beautiful things from natural and recycled materials.
She saw stories, skill and possibility.
This moment became the beginning of Mum’s.
2007
Mum's is born
Our first steps taken.
Bags designed in Finland and handmade by women in South Africa, all from surplus materials.
2010
Flowerdrops Charity
Art project by Mum's founder Outi.
Charity project supports youngsters and children.
2010
Our Gymball wins the #1 prize
First place in playful interior design at the Habitare competition in Finland.
2013
Mrs. President wears Mum's
Jenni Haukio, wife of former President Sauli Niinistö, wears a brooch by Mum’s.

Eelis joins Mum's
Outi’s son, Eelis, joins Mum’s.
He brings new ideas, energy and curiosity.
And he tries his best to help everyone.
