Hanna Anonen x Mum's collection is handmade of local wool. Wool we get from local sheep. Sheep wander free and bring extra income for the community. Mum's works both people and animal friendly, connects skilled artisans with talented and nice artists and designers.
Working from home allows artisans take care opf their family and save travel cost to work. It is all family work and parents are most proud to make work by hand for Mum's, get income so they may pay their kids go to school, learn to read and write. They did not have that chance for themselves when kids.
Location we took the photos is a 200 years old traditional Finnish house in Western Finland place called Lieto.
The owner is starting to repair it back ti it's original condition, with care.
Because of the nature of handicraft each Mum's rug is unique, and also signatured by the artisan who made it. Large rugs are made by two or three artisans. It's a teamwork!
Woolrug is practical. Use it both sides and vacuum regularly. Smaller rugs you may wash it is mild water. Stains wipe with wet cloth.
